Subject: RE: Disney vacation advice...

If you're just doing Disney then stay at Disney to take advantage of their transportation. You won't need a rental car. If you're staying at Disney then buy their meal plan. It's expensive but so are Disney meals. It gives you breakfast, lunch, dinner, and some snacks. We found that we could share some of the bigger lunches and stretch our points out for more snacks. We also had dinner at some of their really nice places. Make you're meal reservations well in advance to get the character dinners and restaurants you want. We didn't do the park hopper pass. We planned ahead and went to the park with the evening activities or extra hours for the day. Without park hopper you can come and go as much as you want you just can't visit more than one park in a day. We didn't like the air transportation that Disney offerred when booking through them. It was Value Jet or Jet Blue but the flight arrived at Disney later in the day and left earlier in the morning than we wanted. We ended up booking the entire trip through Southwest and got an early flight going and a late flight coming home. Only drawback was we had to handle our luggage at the airport. Disney is a wonderful vacation and they are the very best at what they do. Don't know about cost as we went 3 years ago but plan on going back when my youngest is a little older.
