Highland Center, in Southeast Iowa

Neat story!!  :-)

When we married, nearly 40 years ago, I was Protestant and my intended was Catholic.  His home priest wanted my husband-to-be to take Pre-Cana at his home church and me to take it at the church we would be married in, nearer my home.  That seemed a bit odd to me; if we were taking Pre-Cana in preparation to be married, shouldn't we be getting the same message at the same time??   Then, the priest wouldn't let him have his baptismal and confirmation certificates to take to the priest who was going to marry us.  Ended up having to go thru an intermediary to get the records so we could be married.   That difficult priest went to the priests' retirement home shortly after all that.
