The priest presides over the wedding ceremony and is a stand-in for Jesus to witness the couple's vows to each other. Among several questions, he askes them if they will accept children lovingly and raise them Catholic......he makes no demands of them.....he only asks that they live by the faith that they share and prays that they succeed.

Each priest may word it a bit differently, and how 'you' interpret it may vary.
