I understand exactly what you are taling about, and yes, I have 2 kids, 2 teenagers.

I the past, I have called parents to come get their kid from a sleepover when the child wouldn't follow some basic house rules. I was the "mean Dad" but that is ok with me. Now that they are teens, the child in question has had a dl for about 5 months, and wrecked 3 cars, including one of his granfathrs, who is now getting sued. I make no claims on being the perfect parent, but my kids do know what is expected of them, and what the consequences will be if they don't live up to that. Too many parents these days are more afraid of CPS (child protective services) and the school system than they are afraid of raising a brat.
