I think it is diet more than anything else. I was haveing trouble a couple years ago with a heeler and a mixed dog. I changed food from pedigree and even went to science diet for sensitive skin for a while but no better. Then I went to Joy and fed it for a year and a half and now Pride dog food. It started clearing up on the Joy and I still dont have any trouble now. It takes a long time to correct it with diet because what they are lacking in is not replaced over night.
