| I don't see where there is any shame one way or the other. We run a "family farm" but we are first generation farmers. I have other family members that operate family farms, but there wasn't any room for me, so I had to do it on my own...that's just the way it is. I don't think having to start from scratch would have made me any better at farming than if I took over the reins of an established operation. The desire is strong enough to make either way work. I'm pretty sure that at least one of my daughters will want to continue on with this farm. And if she wants it, you can bet that I'm going to help her succeed any way that I can. It might not be the same kind of farm, but that'll be her choice. She has already demonstrated an inherent work ethic and sense of responsibility, so I'm not really worried about that.
There will always be people out there that are jealous of someone else’s success or personal happiness.
