A great personality and coach. I will always remember him with the Reds and especially the Tigers when they were battling the Twinkies. One thing I remember is that he never made excuses. Bad call, bad break,. whatever, he never complained to the press. He would read an ump the riot act, as any good manager would, but never got petty.
