Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | Comes out to right around $0.10 Tarriff rate. You guys have another year before you hit tariff? Power on wheeline irrigation ran me about $45/acre last year, at tariff rate, and that was two full irrigations on some cuttings, so a lot of water. I know some guys are about $10/acre per irrigation, but they must have some older pumps or too much pump to be that high.
Then there is the demand charge, nice little $600 per pump charge Christmas present. Then 14% rate increase for next year, plus the damn dam surcharge... now this little Bureau increase could raise our O&M another $10 acre, to $60/acre. Even at $60/acre the district can't cover the power rate increase...
I guess the easiest thing to do is flood it all... turn it into a "walking wetland"... maybe I can sell trinkets to the birdwatchers... ;) | |
