Saskatchewan, big whitetail country!!!
Is the bullet somewhere in the tractor you can retreive and use as exhibit A? Errant shots can happen unfortunately, and deflections can occur. Skipping off rocks, trees, dirt clods, etc. I would find the bullet, find the shooter, and let him know what happened. First chum with him and find out if he is a hunter wannabe (city boy who has no clue, no ethics), or an actual hunter (a city or rural boy with ethics and the chance this was a ricochet, or whatever.) The real hunter will apologize, and seem very sorry and may turn white. The supposed wannabe hunter will turn red, deny, and come up with every excuse out there swearing and maybe yelling.

It could be an honest mistake, a careless mistake, hopefully not an intentional "mistake".

Either way the hunter, whoever he may be NEEDS to know what has happened. A real hunter will take it in stride, and would be very glad to apologize and to know where his bullet went, even if it is embarrasing.

I am a hunter, and would appreciate an honest kind approach from someone who with reasonable proof, (the bullet), and the wisdom this would give in stand placement, shooting lane arrangement etc. If he is an ethical hunter, and he hunts there a lot, and he is not told a tractor is out of site beyond his shooting lane, it WILL happen again until he is told.
