Michigan.
Get a 2.5oz can of Fox Labs O.C. pepper spray and add a 4 second burst to a gallon of water, in the pump sprayer.
Spray down the area the dog likes to chew. He will only chew it once if he's smart, twice if he's stubborn.

Fox labs is food grade, and will NOT harm the dog, I have added a quick squirt to the Chili a time or two when cooking for the gang at deer camp and have had the stuff in my eyes too many times to mention. If you go with another brand, make sure it is "Food grade" as quite a few other makers of OC use petrochemical additives.


In the short term, motion activated sprinklers will deter access and aren't expensive.

Is the dog chewing out of boredom or frustration?
Or is it just one of those odd dog quirks that simply needs to be done away with?
