EC, AR | I have found it would be cheaper to hire my crop hauled to elevator than own trucks, but that is not a choice because there is never enough trucks available for custom hire in the middle of harvest, therefore I own four trucks that I use 3 months out of year. Used to do some custom hauling but have stopped for lack of reliable and sober drivers. The liability of having trucks on the road scares me. With billboards all over towns that say "In an accident with Big Truck" call us we will screw them for a percentage of the setttlement lawyers. These parasites do not care that the truck was at fault or not---just convince jury. Most insurance companys settle rather than take case to court. | |
