Let's go over this again.  With very few exceptions (I have a friend who trained to be a pro chef and he does all the cooking in their house, so there are exceptions) if it goes in the shop it is your decision.  If it goes in the house, ESPECIALLY the kitchen, your role is say

"Yes  Dear, whatever you want"

You might suggest this is a long term commitment, so don't go cheap, get the one that does what she needs and wants.

I know, you are being asked for advice and she wants your help deciding.  Most likely she really doesn't want your help, she wants you to validate her choice.
