selling 5000 bushels of corn for $28,000 cash now, then buying futures that might make me an additional $1000-$5000?? Or maybe lose the same???
I can claim a full $28k in income in 2010 and only add or subtract a much smaller amount in 2011 via futures, that's why. At least that's how I am looking at it for the moment.
