N FLA | Based on the input, here is what I am thinking of. I know more than i did yesterday. Looks like they are called breakover posts where the pivot crosses the fence. This is a pic of the farm site. Black lines are wire fence. Yellow lines could be electric fence. They do not recommend putting the wire straightaway with the pivot, so only one tower crosses at a time. Gates could be in a few strategic locations.
Traditional practice here would be to plant oats, rye, ryegrass, wheat, whatever, fence to fence, and put cows in. We would like to do a better job all around with the cows/forage/soil. The forages should grow well throughout the winter. We are essentially grazing a cover crop, peanuts will be planted in April.
