We used to do that with manure, grow a crop of corn with no commercial fertilizer. The one field beside the dairy shelled at 279 bpa dry last year. It only had 40 lbs of N applied at planting in April, and most of that was probably washed out early. If it would have stopped raining long enough to run through it with another 60 of N, it would have made 300 easy. That field is still showing the productivity of years of drowning in manure.
What shall I do?
