Good job Rich!!  You put out enough N in this thread to let everyone's computer grow big screens and keyboards for large fat fingers this winter.

If a crop cannot survive on manure N alone, it damn sure won't survive on any other N.  Only reason to apply nonmanure N at a later date is to provide more N at proper time of need as opposed to applying it all upfront.

Better go back to that high school you loved so well and look through a chem book or two.  Then mosey over to the voag room and talk to the high schoolers in the know.
