northwest tennessee | I am thinking Ben. I prolly do too much of that. I am going to do some things different in the future. I prolly will never be able to do as you do because I just dont have enough ground to be able to graze it twice a year or so. I do rotate but I am going to start buying my hay I need and have found a guy that I think can bring it to me for about what I have in it trying to grow it myself. I am feeding some of it now and it is not bad hay. That will free up alot of ground and take more stress off of my grass. Fertilizer is going to get out of reach for livestock folks so might as well get used to it. I will try to no till rye grass and wheat and such for them to graze in the winter too. I have a drill and like to do that but that doesnt work well without moisture. I know you dont do any of this and I am envious of you. Be patient with me I am 49 and I am starting to think of ways for the cattle to do more of the work and me less every day. | |
