If you can't hit it with a 5½" barrel, chances are good you won't hit with a 7" either. That extra 1½" of sight radius will make only a miniscule difference in accuracy. The extra weight & 'clumbsiness' of the 7" will hamper more than help. A 7" barrel will only be of aid if you plan to shoot for competition accuracy imho.
