| Never figured out the jobs thing. It takes 35 to 40 people to run a 100 million gallon ethanol plant. Can’t count DDGS because they would be hauling corn if DDGS wasn’t available. Can’t count ethanol transport because they would be hauling gasoline except for a few extra people because of the lower BTU’s in ethanol. So where did those jobs come from and what do they do? Yes, I do know what lobbyists do. While we are at it, what ever happened to the claims that an ethanol plant would reduce the basis? 7 or 8 ethanol plants within 50 miles and the highest concentration of pigs and hens along with a bunch of turkeys in the country, $0.62 basis for both corn and soybeans. Was 70 and 80 cents a week ago! Please enlighten me. |
