Subject: Made a Parts Run to Muleshoe (!) today

West Texas

Shoo, I hope it's a long time before I have to do a run that long again.

Had to get parts for the MacDon header, and I needed them *today*, and the nearest dealer is in Muleshoe, 3 hours away even if you drive like dutch. *grin*

Showers all over the place when I left home, and I came back through some pretty heavy downpours. I saw some real pretty cotton being stripped around Levelland right up past Littlefield, then I turned around after I got my parts and by the time we hit Littlefield again the rains began. I really feel for those guys in Lamb and Hockley counties ... really gorgeous cotton turned into a sodden brown sponge and water standing in the row middles. The only bright spot would be, at least it was still on the stalk and not on the ground.

Got home just in time for our turn under the rain spigot. Just a shower here, but right east of us, it rained hard. Hope nobody got hailed on.
