Subject: Re: A Perspective on Farming vs. a Corporate Job

NC Iowa
I just left my city job that were so many of the things you described. I remember on my honeymoon I had to send emails and make phone calls to make important decisions back at work, it wasn't right. The worst thing about vacation was coming back from it, I was more stressed after vacation then ever before, so then I would only take a day off here and there but that really wasn't enough to regroup. It was an endless cycle.
The last ten days have been work and sleep on the farm, but I don't miss my 8-5 city job at all, I miss my wife since I am a couple hours away. The steady income and benefits mean nothing over the satisfaction of a job well done on a family farm, 120 hours a week or 20. Good luck. I always say good people that are hard workers will always make it work, doesn't matter what the circumstances.
