NW Washington | Well, a check list might be a good idea. All airplane pilots use them and I have read that surgeons are now cutting down on mistakes by using check lists.
Getting him to use the check list might be an issue.
Has he has a good physical lately? Tiring and attention problems might be health related.
And encourage him to get a hearing aid. They are expensive at take some getting used to, but it sure is a lot better that saying Huh, (eh?), asking for repeats, answering the wrong question or just plain missing out on what is going on.
Technology can be a real issue. Some folks really go for it and others hate it and constantly gripe and complain about it. But improved hearing might be a start. And maybe a check list here too. And it sounds like if he wants to be a involved he need to be encouraged to get up to speed. Are there any short training sessions he could go to, like something put on by Outback.
And a lot of patience. Think about what he put up with getting you two up to adulthood.
