| I know it is very popular in the dairy industry but from what you said I can't see why, if my conception drops from 70%-35% only half of my original heifers are bred and will hopefully calve heifers. If I use unsexed semen and breed 70% conception, and get half bulls and half heifers, I've still got the same number of heifers, some bulls to pawn off, and twice as many cows lactating as if I had used sexed semen. I must be missing something as it seems to be all the rage in dairy and everyone is worried about the glut of heifers that will be coming into production over the next year.
