SE Nebraska | I did the corporate thing with a herbicide manufacturer for 3 or so years. The owner/founder/ceo was in the office at 4:00 every morning, and often there until 10 or 11 at night. As a manager, I had a mandatory morning meeting withhim at 6 every morning. That was my guarenteed face time with him to go over expenses, issues, growth and ideas, targets etc. I was to be in the office until 5 or later. During our busy season, 14-18 hour days was not uncommon. I left there for the retail world and found I finally had time for a few cows and a hay patch. It has since expanded for me, and I don't miss anything, including the 6 figure salary. I figured out I had worked almost 3200 hours a year during that time! 2080 is 40 hrs a week year round.
AM, I think you are on the right track. However, I know many who will say you are missing the boat. Listen to Jimmy Buffett "the weather is here, I wish you were beautiful" and "Key wasted". Songs about stepping out and away. | |
