Actually I have another 12 yrs. to go to get my earliest retirement age(56). I had 5 yrs as a substitute carrier which I get no credit for retirement purposes, it's just like I never even worked those 5. I've thought about this alot the last several yrs. and it just makes no sense to me to work at something that you dread every day of your life to wake up one day old and asking where did my life go and why did'nt I do something that was enjoyable and fullfilling. I know I'm blessed to have a good income but that's about it. Some of the people at the postal service are hard to work for and then there is all of thier stupid regulations. They look for reasons to give letters of warning, although I've never gotten one. I'm an independent thinking person who does not like working for anyone else, will be that way till the day I leave this earth. Just maybe thinking out loud tonight, probably need to shut up and count my blessings:)
