New Mexico | had some strings then below $100 on steers weighing 475, hiefer mates of course were a give away in the 85 to 95 range. Same calves are 10 to 15 higher now.
There's some wheat just barely getting ready now, calves generally go up some for the graze outs.
Don't have this weeks reports in yet...but traditional cash fats down here were $2 higher last night.
Deal is acting "spunkier" for a change.
Bought a couple loads of yearling steers and bullettes the past 2 days....weighed 710, cost was $93...figure the same cattle next week will likely be 3 to 5 higher.
Seems like the total avg meat market is lower hogs, lower cull cows, then average that back to higher fat cattle ( SHOULD have a $17 cwt UP move in fats over the next month ....we'll see.
Bred cows here...cheap enough...$500 to $700 for the best young spring bred cows that walk.
