Subject: Re: How is this corn rally affecting calf prices in your area

At my local barn a couple off days ago we had a pretty big run off cattle for this time off year. About a 1000 head. Suprisingly calves an yearlings sold well. Despite being in the middle off harvest an a small crowd. I thought with the higher corn market it wouldnt be so good. There were some really nice cattle go through the ring however. A friend off mine the other day told me that fats could get to be $1.10 0r $1.15 by spring. That would be nice but Im not holding out much hope for that. But we got to realize that the total number off cattle is way down. Right now theres a pretty good supply off fat cattle but come spring the numbers will be pretty short. If a guy could buy some off these yearling cattle which there are not to many left. They could make some pretty descent money come spring.
