Correct me if I am wrong, but RINS are a blenders credit for blending more ethanol than is required.
So, if blending of ethanol continues to be profitable there is no need for them to use the RINS. However, I feel it is the ethanol producers who are getting squeezed (especially yesterday) so they should be the ones to ration demand. but, if they shut down completely, then the RINS will be needed to meet the RFS.
Is the approval of E15 figured into this market?
