I recorded the program and will have to watch again. Part of the advantage was in having price and order flow info a split second ahead because of physical location. If you were closer to the exchange, you would gain a few milli-seconds. The new data center designed by the NYSE in New Jersey was going to provide co-location and level the playing field I think.
