I'm certainly no expert but I believe there is no limit on what can be paid for a call or put. Therefore you are able to truly realize what the market would be trading at by seeing how much more the call or put is actually bringing over or under the limit. Thus the synthetic value. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong.
