We spray the doors & windows cracks - before they show up - with one of the year-long products made for this. 'Enforcer 365' in red squirt bottles maybe it's called? The farm supply store stocks up on this stuff every fall the last few years....

Then they pile up in big dead piles at your door step.

At least not so many flying around inside.

They are so dumb, they have to taste you see if you are eatable to them - we aren't, but you will feel a small bite from time to time. They look for a cliff wall to burrow into, and your house seems like a cliff to them. They overwinter in the walls, dormant, and fly out again is spring.

Hate to kill them after they are in the house, best to remember & spray before they show up in fall.

One option.
