Subject: Re: Anyone knowledgeable on chimney drafts?

NW IOWA
I put an Amazing Heat furnace in my basement and tried to vent it up an outside chimney, It was hard to get a draft started because of the cold chimney. When I got it running good it worked fine, but then it would condensate the moisture in the chimney and run down into the basement what a stinking mess. They said that a a ss chimney liner would solve the problem and keep the temp warm enough to prevent the condensation. But there is not a a ss liner that is 6" that is approved for corn burning stove. The black 6" stove pipe that is of heavy gauge metal rusted trough in less than one year. The moisture produced from a corn burning stove is very caustic, I believe it's sulfuric acid. It will eat up a concrete floor. I wish I knew the answer because I like my stove. The small direct vent stoves don't have the problem because they make a special sspipe for them and they don't condense moisture like a big chimney would. They say the correct pipe to use for corn burning is a gas furnace rated pipe but they don't make that heavy enough to meet code. Help!!!!
