| If so the dialer could have went bad. If you don't then it's pretty easy to troubleshoot your problem. Unplug everything that is plugged into the line and plug the phone in that works, if you have dialtone then start plugging stuff back in one by one checking each time to see if you lose dialtone. If that doesn't work you can take an ohm meter and check for a short on the line or just call your number, if it is busy or goes right to voicemail, you have a short in the wire or in a jack. Only thing to do then is to start taking things apart all the way back to the nid until you find the defective piece. The same goes for if something went open, except when you call the number it will just ring until voicemail normally picks up or if you don't have voicemail, it will just ring and ring.
