Northeast Louisiana | I would think that maybe with a more modern, high-tech kind of combine, that some kind of alarm or light would come on to alert the operator when the auger is out, but not running. Those days of the fixed, rigid, angled-out augers are ancient history.
Our 2388 has a light that comes on if the auger is just barely out of the cradle, and another light that comes on when you turn the auger on. We tell our drivers to fold the auger back in as soon as they get through unloading, same with the grain carts as well. |
