| Ted, I can't for the life of me, see why anyone would want to just run around all day with that auger hanging out! I ran some of those Masseys for a while. They were the first to do that, before the Titans and Axial-Flows came around. I can still recall having to get on the radio and remind some kid to put it back in. That cradle was not standard on Massey until much later, too. By then, I was running silver, due to the loss of my dealer.
I would think that maybe with a more modern, high-tech kind of combine, that some kind of alarm or light would come on to alert the operator when the auger is out, but not running. Those days of the fixed, rigid, angled-out augers are ancient history. | |
