southern MN | How the credit score is formulated is not put out in the public, yet it seems to be a thing that controls so many people's lives. Maybe there is something for the govt to look into, instead of some of the stuff they are working on now....
One part of the score is concerned about how much debt you have vs how much credit you have available. So if you close down unused credit cards, then you change your ratio and can hurt your credit score.
I would be very careful of the credit clean up 'services'. It is a landmine of hucksters trying to get your money & run. One of the morning shows was just talking about some thins morning - the govt is regulating them, and many are running away.
