Inspect closely for any water damage around windows and pop-outs/slides. If there appears to be any water damage walk away! The wall will usually be bubbled or discolored. Also the surface below such as the floor or countertop will have discoloration. If it does have slides, make the person put them in and out to make sure they are working properly. Also have them take the awning out to inspect the condition of the awning, they can be expensive to replace. Don't be afraid to ask to look at the roof. Look at the storage both inside and outside, we women have a tendency to want to pack a lot. You want to make sure you have a place to put lawn chairs, tables, and pretty decorations for the awning!! :) As for comfort, check out the "facilities." Sit down on it and make sure you have leg room. We had great luck with an used Jayco, was a great camper and had a great layout. We just upgraded to a new Forrest River Wildcat last year and have had nothing but problems with it. Only thing good about going new is that it has warranty, warranty does not transfer from seller to buyer, even if the camper is only three months used. When we shopped for one, we took my husband's father so we could focus on the layout and "prettys" and he just looked at the technical stuff. Good luck, RV shopping is fun. Make a day of it and check out local dealers or do a web search for dealers in your area as they usually have pretty good pictures online of the layout, but look before you buy. We drove two hours away for our first one and when we got there we realized that it was really small and the slides didn't work right. Since we were in the area, we shopped at other dealers there and found our Jayco.
