West Central Alberta Coldest, wettest edge
Speaking of Walmart and China, I want to play the devils advocate. As China becomes the biggest importer of virtually everything, instead of being a benefit to resource rich countries, such as selling corn for pig feed as mentioned here, it could become a negative. IF they follow the Walmart monopoly model of holding out for the lowest price anywhere in the world, with no one else big enough to compete, they can then pay you whatever THEY want for your corn. If you only have one customer for your corn , while there are many producers ( countries) fighting for that one customer, regardless of supply and demand, the customer will get their way.

Not trying to be negative, nor do I believe it, but it is worth considering.
