If you have dollars, now is as good of time as any to exchange them for gold.  If you're doing the short term trading, just watch the contract and option expiry dates when the manipulators are driving down the price and buy around those dates, sell mid month when it hits new record highs, then sell again several (7?)days prior to the next option expiry date.
