Ontario
DJM: Sorry, I was not looking at ag-talk too much today.
In my immediate area around Lucan Ontario, we had a interesting spring. Excellent early planting conditions for this area by the 18th of April, and a lot of corn was in the ground accross the province by May 1rst.
Most of the corn had just emerged and then the frost hit. (It looked bad, but it has come back nicely, although some spots we are down to 25,000 plants per acre population.)
Then a cool rainy May, no field work for 3 weeks with conditions turning proper for planting soybeans around the 20th of May.
Since then right in our immediate area not a lot of rain in June. (Some area recieved quite a bit, but it always seemed to go around us here. We had 4/10ths of a inch last week, with the soybeans and edible beans responding very fast to the much needed drink!)
The corn has been putting down some good roots, with many fields waist to chest high for the first of July. It will need more rain again soon, but so far the corn is holding without any leaf shriveling or wilting.
I will post our rainfall totals here for May, June tommorrow, as they are in the office.

P.S. don't let this guy get you down. I appreciate your advice and taking a stab at predicting what will happen with the markets. (I've made some good sales when incorporating your ideas into our marketing plans since joining ag-talk in the last year and a half.) There are a couple of times had I acted on what you posted here, that would have saved me a lot of grief!)

You mentioned a while back that you are losing your job? Ever though of becoming a marketing consultant or specialist of some kind?
