Hastings, Florida | Mike, next time you are over my way, let me give you some datil pepper plants.
These were introduced from Cuba to the St. Augustine area in the 1800's, and are grown commercially on a very small scale.
They have about the same heat as habaneros, but sweeter.
Folks use them in sauces, ground-up as a seasoning, and make jelly with them.
I am not a big fan of much-o heat-o, but I do enjoy these.
