| I believe you are correct, Gene. My step-grandfather bought a headstone and had his funeral arrangements with the funeral home pre-planned and pre-paid for in 1976. The funeral home had changed ownership by the time he passed away at age 90 in 1998. The funeral home honored the original deal he made with the previous owners. I don't know if SD had a state law that said they had to or not. Some minor changes had to be made as he had outlived most of his original selection of pallbearers and alternates. ;-)
