"We have become weak".

That pretty well sums up things.  I am not sure if anything short of the government coming in and taking our land and possessions would stir people up enought to make a half hearted attempt to defend what they have.  

Remember the Kennedy quote "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country".   The country he was talking about is much different than the one we have today.  Sad.
