A nearby bank's FDIC insurance increased by a factor of about 11 from pre-crash levels.  They had made no bad mortgage loans.  Seemed to agitate the (apparently conservative and risk-averse) management a little bit.  Insurance increase cost them somewhere near 10% of expected profit for the year.
