| And my question really is... "Why not let everyone know the actual number?"
Can you imagine the millions of dollars of cash kept out of producers pockets by not allowing the market to rise at it's natural course? If producers had really known the stocks in the US would they have let beans trickle out a little more slowly and ask to market to bid for them?
I know the shudder that would have happened if beans spiked like Durum, and maybe that is why USDA "massaged" the numbers, but holding them down seems just as vile.
