It occurs to me that this isn't their own money they are playing with. Isn't it about time to stop sending these guys our money? All the 401K and IRA money just pours in and these guys do whatever they please with it. It's not as bad as the madoff scheme, but I wonder at what point does investor money start disappearing due to crazy positions falling apart (regardless of the broader market/DJ, etc). I realize providing capital to fund business expansion is way down on the boaring scale and some sort of CDO, swaps or whatever are far more exciting. However, would investor money flow in as readily if it was clear that they were heading to the casino with our $?

I don't think you can make enough rules to keep these guys in check and the only real way to get it done is to stop adding fuel to the fire.
