the simplest way to get hash browns fresh and crispy is to shred them and then put a big pile of shredded potatoes in a clean dishcloth, wrap up and squeeze hard. i can do it with no problen and i am a small woman. the excess water comes out easily, and they are fresh and ready for cooking. easy.
