Brazilton KS

It really doesn't take much of anything to handle dry fertilizer.  I've spread lots of acres out of a hopper bottom using a swing away auger. Take truck to port, load fertilizer, go home, spread it...do it while hauling beans and the cost is maybe a few gallons of extra diesel and an extra hour of time.

There's really not any avoiding the infrastructure cost on NH3, however the stuff is half the price of urea....it's not going to kill anybody to spend a little money to be able to use it.  If you don't want to spend the money, fine, but you have to realize it's a pay for it and have it vs not have it and pay for it deal.

As far as the 200 acre deal mentioned by someone.....I'm sure somebody is gonna get all bent out of shape over seeing the obvious stated, but there's no way to spread the cost of much of anything across 200 acres and get it thin enough to work very well.  Just sort of the nature of the business at this point in history.
