Subject: Re: why are you not using ddgs ?

west central Ohio
we used 20 % with 2008 corn . when the 2009 crop came 20% stoped the pigs pretty quick. we backed off to 10% and added diffusion, a binder agent. pigs are eating well even though we do see some extra dry feed in the wet/dry feeders some mornings. by the next morning its back to normal. must have some hot spots in the corn or distillers.

we will continue to use it as we have some toxins in the corn and the diffusion cost 5$ / ton and the ddgs will save about 6$. the intakes and growth rates were in line with the last group so as long as the intakes are good we'll keep using it.

it is bulkier than sbm , so a bigger bin is needed to hold a whole semi load.
