![](http://www.newagtalk.com/mapdots/johnburns.jpg) Pittsburg, Kansas | I do get irritated at some of the Made in USA claims. John Deere made a big deal out of the 5000 series tractors when the came out many years ago about being Made in USA. Nothing against the folks who work in the Georgia plant but at least back then maybe the sheet metal (plastic) was made in the USA. Maybe the steering wheel, not sure about it, or radiator or something. Every major component including engine, transmission, hydraulics, front end, rear end, three point hitch mechanism, even tires were made somewhere else. A more accurate statement would have been "assembled in the USA". I thought it was kind of tacky advertising and only made me question the truthfulness of any other statements the company might have. Do companies really believe that being technically correct but honesty bankrupt causes customers to be more loyal and buy more products? John
